Oven Disaster

Was in the utility this evening when I heard a noise from the kitchen. Went to investigate to find this....

the inner glass had shattered on the oven door. So more expense to fork out. There's always one thing after another. Thankfully I did not have our meal in the oven at the time or that would have been ruined too. Luckily we have two ovens so I still have one I can use until we get a new piece of glass.

Think I've to buy a new iron too! Every time I iron the electric cuts out. Did it four times the other day when I ironed and did it again today. Will only buy a cheap iron because they never seem to last me long. Mooooor expense!

Had a good clearout under the stairs today. This is the dumping ground for all the shoes.

This is a pile of some of the shoes. I still had another red box of shoes under there which is daughter No2's box. Had her sort through her box when she returned from college. Some of the shoes had not seen daylight for a very long time. A lot of tatty shoes were binned. None of the shoes to be thrown out were any good for the charity shop. It's now a lot tidier and we can actually find our shoes now. So another job done today that I have been meaning to do for months.

No spare cash will be left at the end of this month then will all the  things we now have to buy. Hope nothing else happens that's going to cost us this month. Any disasters in you home this week?

  1. OMG how did that happen ? I find that when one thing goes , I have a spate of things going at the same time.

  2. That's happened to my oven before, right before Christmas too. It cost quite a bit for a replacement and we paid extra for it to be sent express to arrive before Christmas, only to find it was faulty and had to be replaced again, so no oven for Christmas. Luckily, I have two ovens too, so it wasn't a complete disaster. My irons never seem to last. I got my latest one from Tesco, it was on offer so I got a good deal. Hope you don't have anything else to replace in the near future.

  3. I was just preheating the oven then it shattered.

  4. I have had a really bad run with everything breaking this year too! Had to buy a new TV yesterday! Really need to watch the pennies this month. :(
I bought an iron from Tescos. Not the cheapest value one (which is rubbish) but the one that is about £11. It is really good.

  5. Good for you tidying up dumping grounds. It's a full time job. As soon as you clear up one mess another one starts. At least it shows that people are around and doing.
Don't buy the expensive one from Tesco's. We did then found it about £20 cheaper online.
    Love from Mum

  6. OMG, that's so strange! And scary! And the iron thing...that doesn't seem quite right. Maybe it's God's way of telling you not to iron, LOL! Works for me! It's funny how things seem to happen all at once, doesn't it? Hope things get better for you soon. I'm now following your site! Have a happy day!
